Monasterio de Yuste

the desire of Emperor Carlos V was to spend his last days in La Vera. The place he chose was a 15th century monastery located in the town of Cuacos de Yuste, a monastery surrounded by nature that has now become National Heritage of Spain. It is located  17 km away on the EX203 road towards Plasencia.

Cuacos de Yuste

Declared a historic-artistic town for its rich cultural heritage: it is the home of the famous Yuste Monastery, the German cemetery and the house of Juan de Austria. Beautiful town surrounded by nature and history. It is located 15.3 km away from the hostel on the EX203 road towards Plasencia.

Villanueva de la Vera

A small charming village in which the streets, the old town, the houses and their colours show typical Verata architecture. Villanueva de la Vera was declared a historic-artistic complex in 1982 and it is located 16 km away on the EX203 road towards Madrigal de la Vera/Candeleda.

Garganta la Olla

A village declared a historical-artistic site in 1982 for its architectural heritage and for the great natural beauties that it houses. As its name indicates, the town is known for its gorges, pots and piles. It is an emblematic town of La Vera, since the old town preserves the verata typology and this makes you feel that time stopped there long time ago.

Valle del Jerte

Known for its landscapes and the famous nature reserve Garganta de los Infiernos, an area where you can enjoy numerous waterfalls and contemplate a beautiful environment with great natural wealth. It is 74 km away on the EX203 road towards Plasencia until you reach the national N110 road, where you will take the direction Navaconcejo / Avila.
